Managing risks

At Huisman, we ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. We therefore want to make you aware of certain risks that may occur when entering the workshops or the premises. We will also inform you about the procedures that everyone must follow. This includes performing a Last Minute Risk Analysis or a Job Safety Analysis. This is how we minimise the risks.

1. Hierarchy of control

At Huisman, we monitor the health and safety of all employees by working according to the occupational hierarchy of control. We will tell you what this means. In addition, we make you aware of possible risks on our premises or in the workshops. You will also learn how you should coordinate work with your colleagues in order to prevent dangerous situations.

2. Last Minute Risk Analysis

Before you start your work, you must perform a Last Minute Risk Analysis. The purpose of this is to recognise and eliminate any hazards. We will explain what this analysis entails.

3. Job Safety Analysis

For high-risk work, a Job Safety Analysis must be done with all parties involved. This is a safety tool with which you can determine hazards in advance and thus manage them. You will learn about the five steps you need to go through to perform this analysis properly.

4. Lock-out Tag-out system

To avoid danger during service or maintenance work on an active installation, we use a Lock-out Tag-out system. We will explain how this system works.
